ElectronicsRadio, back on the air
A silent portable radio, rebuilt inside and tidied outside so it plays clean and looks right.
Arrived with: no sound, scratchy controls, a slipping dial cord, and a cracked case corner.
The work: replaced aging capacitors, cleaned and lubricated the controls, restrung the dial, and repaired and polished the case.
Result: clear reception, smooth tuning, and a case that holds together.
Bench note: a radio that has sat unused for years should not just be plugged in. Aging capacitors can fail on first power-up, so have it checked first.
