Brass floor lamp, rewired

A tarnished brass floor lamp made safe to use and bright to look at.

Arrived with: frayed cloth wiring, a failing switch, dull brass, and a wobbly base.

The work: rewired top to bottom with new sockets and switch, cleaned and sealed the brass, and straightened and welded the base.

Result: steady, safe, and glowing like it belongs in the room.

Bench note: if a vintage lamp still has its original cloth cord and it feels stiff or cracks when bent, unplug it until the wiring has been checked.
